Leicester Freemasonry

Freemasonry is often misunderstood by those with little knowledge of it but to those more enlightened it revolves around the three main pillars of society, Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth. 

The first one should be self-explanatory Relief is charitable work and Truth is being honest with yourself about your possible failings and weaknesses. Freemasonry will encourage you to become a better person and help to guide you through life to the benefit of yourself and your fellow human beings. 

Throw in ancient drama, study, formality and friendship and you will arrive at the essential core of our Order, Modern Mixed Masonry As the name suggests, we are a new Masonic Order, having been created in 2011, and we welcome everyone equally, especially current or lapsed Freemasons, regardless of the usual divisions in society.

All we ask is that you are over 18, believe in a Supreme Being, be prepared to work in harmony with your fellow Masons and participate in the Tenets and Landmarks of the Order.

Because we are new, with Masonic centres around the country, advancement is more rapid than the older Orders but we still maintain the rituals and formalities necessary to preserve order and, as we don’t have the large buildings to maintain, our costs are a lot lower than comparable organisations, including all the side Degrees.
